Newborn cries on the boob...what the heck is wrong??
My son is 3 weeks old, and right now dh is walking with him so try to get him to stop crying, because seriously, when he acts hungry, i try to boob him and of coarse he will take it, but he goes "suck suck suck.....let go...cry!!!!!...suck suck suck suck.....let go CRY!" It will go on like this for a LONG time until i take him off and let him cry for a minute because i seriously cant take it!
His diaper is clean, he burps every time i feed him, i constantly hold and talk to him, i do not understand why he gets so damn frustrated with the boob! And dh will walk with him for a while then be like " i think hes hungry, when was the last time he ate?" ok dude seriously? youve been watching me try to nurse him over and over again for about 3 hours. i have no idea what his problem is. HELP!
Quoting ludemom:
My thought would be can you feel your let down maybe he not getting your let down as soon as he likes so gets frustrated another thought is mabey he's has a gas bubble stuck rub his tummy if you don't know what baby message is youtube it it has worked wonders for me I hope something helps keep doing awsome
Yup, it's a growth spurt. At this time they only last a couple of days.
I'm also wondering is you have a fast letdown. Do you ever notice him choking, gagging, sputtering on milk while nursing? Do you notice your breast spraying milk when he unlatches?
My DS did this. It was a growth spurt and my DH did the SAME thing!! I was ready to cry. I could feel my let down, he wasn't gagging....
What worked for me was knowing that it will pass, that it was a growth spurt and then I relaxed and hung out with baby with my shirt off. Skin to skin is best for you both. His crying is telling your body to make more milk.
Also try stimulating your breast before baby gets to it so that your let down will happen faster when he gets there.
This should only last a few days. Hang in there. Don;t give up, you are doing the right thing.
