Weaning: Is this Normal??

Hi ladies, looking for some advice. I have completed my year long goal of breastfeeding my daughter. I gradually (1 dropped feeding every week) weaned her and havent nursed since last Monday night, almost 8 days. My boobs are sore when I press on them, other than that, they are not uncomfortable. I have experienced some leaking, but not a significant amount. They feel hard and somewhat lumpy, but I wouldn't say they are engorged. Is this normal after 8 days?? I'm concerned with developing mastitis, I don't have a fever or any other symptoms, I'm just worred about the soreness. Just looking for some opinions. I didn't think it would take this long.

No, not normal... if you did slow weaning we shouldn't be seeing lumpy or hard or sore. Leaking, yes... that hangs around for a year or more.

Ice packs, cabbage leaves in your bra.
