Before baby arrives I am wanting to have a stock in whatever I need so I'm not sending hubby on a wild goose chase :)
What are some things that you really find helpful for the first few months of breastfeeding?
What do you need for sore or cracked nipples? clogged ducts? whatever you have seen happen during those first few months. What will I need? Breastpads?
Which brands and what do you recommend? TIA ladies.
I also loved having a cup with a lid and straw handy for lots of water
Quoting .3xBlessed.:
Lansinoh lanolin, for sure. Boppy or my breast friend. Breast pads.
Lansinoh lanolin, breastpads. I don't know if the ones I liked are even on the market now.
I'm sorry this may sounds silly, but what are "soothies"?
Quoting .3xBlessed.:
I'd only get a nipple shield if you get horribly cracked or bleeding nipples. Soothies are good for the soreness of the first few weeks

Stock up on healthy snacks! It made nursing a thousand times easier for me if I could have some nuts or trailmix or veggies and a big glass of water while I nursed. That way I was taking time to refuel throughout the day and wasn't so drained. If I were starting over again I'd create a quiet space ahead of time to nurse, with a rocking chair and ottoman (having your feet up makes nursing way easier on your back), my breast friend pillow, a stash of receiving blankets to catch any drips, snacks and a water bottle, and some books or magazines or whatever for those marathon nursing sessions.
Seeing as you'll be spending a LOT of time nursing baby at first you might as well make a space where you can enjoy it and use that time to relax.
