Thank you so much!

That's the one I found. Just wanted to know If there was anything else out there about it.
If I remember, Babywise is based on the idea that your baby will follow a certain time cycle. For instance, a three month baby will have a 3 hour cycle of sleep, eat, play. A 9 month baby will have a 4 hour cycle of sleep, eat, play then back to sleep, eat, play This doesn't work for breastfeeding obviously.
A breastfed baby cycle would be eat, eat, sleep, eat, sleep, play, eat, play, eat, sleep :).
I did find the idea of timing the sleep wake cycle useful though so I have taken that part of babywise to heart. I always look at the clock when he wakes up and know when he will get tired based on observing his cycle. For instance, when he was 4 month old, he would need to go back to sleep about 90 minutes after waking. By 6 months, he would need a nap 2 hours after waking. At his current 9 months, he needs to sleep 2.5-3 hours after waking. I just breastfeed on demand throughout the day and never do cry it out, just nurse to sleep or almost to sleep.

That is only part of it. It is also telling you that a 3 week old should be sleeping through the night for around 11 hours. That is extremely unhealthy and can be deadly. It also says they should be fed every 3-4 hours and that you need to get them on that schedule as soon after birth as possible. I have had three babies and none of them waited that long between feedings, especially that early on.

Wow. I just read the summary. Not feeding a newborn for 3 hours?? That's crazy. Mine is 20 days and nursed practically 12-4a.m. because she's a BABY and she's growing...
EXACTLY! This is why babies are failure to thrive if a moms follow this "guide". I'm trying to prevent her from her baby having it done to him.
There are a lot of ladies in my church who use it and all that I know that have used it, their babies start out being bf but because of not following their babies cues and waiting so long to feed them, they ended up being off by maybe 2 months max.
I was with one lady who's baby was crying because he was hungry and she looked at her watch and said, "You can be hungry yet! You still have 20 minutes left!" She did feed him, but just so he would stop crying. I didn't find out until later that she follows Baby wise.
Quoting DN0818:
Yes. Some babies can do that and be OK. They are wanting ALL babies to do that. Not every baby is the same. Some eat every 3-4 hours, some eat every hour for 20-30 minutes each.
Its just like us adults. Some can go 3-4 hours or more between meals while others need to go every 2 because of a high metabolism.
