Describe his constipation.
If solids don't sit well back off for a little while then try again

if solids are causing a problem then tummy isnt ready so just stop giving them, they are really not needed till after a year

My son ended up on Hypo-allgerinic formula, because breastmilk made him spit up, soy formular made him constipated.

Constipation is only if their tummies are hard and they're passing dry pellets. When solids are first introduced, it takes a while for their bodies to adjust to the change. But if it's causing lots of problems, probably a sign to wait a little longer. Breastmilk is all they *need* for a year - my own dd was mostly breastfed until a year. She had solids here or there but I didn't make a real point to offer everyday until her birthday. Even now, she still mostly nurses. She's almost 15mo

I agree, I would stop giving solids for a while, and then when you decide to try again start with fruits and veggies first.

Do you have rabbit pellets in his diaper?  THAT'S constipation.  That happened to me last week - too much food too soon.  I went one day just nursing again, and WHAM! big ol' diaper full of lovely baby poo!

I say cut out the food, completely. Babies don't need it until after a year anyway. It will take his body up to 2 weeks to return to normal. After that, check into what you're eating, that may be giving baby constipation. Also, formula is know to give some babies stomach problems. If baby spits up bm, then he's taking in too much, and he will learn to slow down. Also, any spicy foods (even mildly spicy) are known to give babies stomach problems, so you may want to cut that out of your diet, as well as high-acid containing foods, lik e oranges, limes, lemons, etc.

My dd only poops once a week or so but as long as its soft and not hard its okay. Quoting proudmommie0811:

Not pooping isnt constipation. Bf babies have gone up to almost 3 weeks without pooping and still normal
