So I am a mother of 2. My son is 8.5 years old and he has Special Needs including a Moderate Intellectual Disability, PDD, and Epilepsy. My daughter is 26 months old, typically developing thank goodness, and is still currently breastfeeding (which is why this is only "a lil OT.")
I am not sure what would be safe as far as breastfeeding, but I have been considering exploring medication to help with my moods. I don't think I am depressed, but my energy & mood levels can change from day to day and week to week.
Yesterday and today have been on the lower end, and I just haven't felt like dealing with anything...causing me to be short tempered, impatient, and quick to yell.
My son is high needs, and still needs the same assistant as a 2 year old, especially with self-help skills. He also has some behavior issues going on, can be pretty moody himself, whines alot, and is prone to having meltdowns. My DD, being two, is basically a typical two year old, but is going thru a stage full of extra attitude!
But ultimately, the mixture of our moods clashing on some days can make for a pretty bad day. I know this is not in depth or anything. But given the day I've had, I am giving medication more serious consideration. Just wanting a lil more input as far as what you ladies thought, and if any of you have experience taking meds for moods and the like. I have not personally been on such meds before.
Thanks in advance.
