Unlatch. Relatch. When it hurts that is always the procedure. If you need to, change breasts.
If it hurts and it's not her latch changing, just keep switching sides when it starts to hurt.

Maybe your period its about to return and it's making you sensitive?

is it possible you or she has thrush? I went through this when my daughter was around the same age. All of a sudden my nipples were killing me. My right more than my left. They were really red and when I checked my daughter's mouth, I noticed white stuff in her cheeks and it wasn't milk. Turns out it was indeed thrush.
Or it could be a bad latch.

Im thinking a bad latch because it doesn't hurt at all on the other side. And one the side that hurts, when she comes off my nipple is really white. Im not sure if she's just clamping down instead of holding it with her suction.
Yep. You are correct.
Because when she kind of pulls away to look around that's when it hurts the most. I just don't know how to fix a latch that at this age.
Yes you do. **smile** Told you how in the first reply. When she gets it wrong, unlatch, relatch correctly. Repeat when she gets it wrong again. Three strikes... the third time she gets it wrong, end the feeding. It's a variety of nursing manners.

Could it be thrush? Just a thought, you could have it on one breast?
