Idk which class I would take while still pregnant. Can you tell?

1. Breast Feeding Preparation Learn the skills of breastfeeding and pumping to help the mom and new baby have a successful experience. Support persons are welcomeand encouraged to attend. Please bring a doll or stuffed animalto practicepositioning.

2. Breastfeeding One-session class taught by a certified lactation consultant, you will find the answers to most common questions about breastfeeding; including: how your body makes milk, getting the baby latched on,and going back to work.

Also #1 asks to bring a receiving blanket. Why is that?

I would DEFINITELY go to number 2.  That sounds like it would be way more knowledgable and full of correct information.

They sort of seem the same. Is the first class NOT taught by an LC? Ideally, the classes should be taught by a IBCLC (maybe these LCs are, check their creds!). A receiving blanket... not sure, I never needed a receiveing blanket to breastfeed any of my 4. Though I suppose you could roll one up like a bolster pillow to support your arm?

I don't think the first class is taught by LC. I'm quite surprised.

I would go for No.2 if I were you. Pumping is for emergency situations and a last resort to keep lactation going.

I would attend a class taught by an IBCLC.

# 2 sounds more helpful. The recieving blanket maybe to learn swaddling or to learn how to cover when you nip

I use a recieving blanket sometimes under my breast to get it positioned correctly for my little guy. Not 100% of the time but it does come in handy for positioning.
