"to pack my pump or not..."

That is the question.

I am packing for my cross country move (again). Movers will be picking up the house when I'm 31 weeks and we will only have what we can fit into our (small cars) for 2 months while we stay with family until our tenants move out of our house and we can move back into when I'll be 38 weeks. So the movers are scheduled to deliver our house at that time.

Should I pack my breast pump on the moving truck with the rest of the baby gear? Or should I bring it with me in case of an early (therefore NICU) arrival due to the stress of our move and everything.

Our cars really will be packed to the brim so every item has to be really thought out if we really need it with us or not.

I'm thinking I'd be able to borrow a hospital pump in the worse case scenario if he is born early? Or should I not assume and bring it with me??

I can't DECIDE!!!!!! Doesn't help that I am soooo overwhelmed with a last minute (leaving in 3 weeks) cross country move!!!

If it will ease your fears bring it, theyre not that big. but....if baby is a preemie the hospital will be able to set you up with one.

Bring it with. At 38 weeks it's not likely you'll deal with NICU... but there's always the risk the movers will be late or lose the pump.

Alternately, if you're doing any kind of moving sale, sell it and buy a new one on the other end.

Personally I would take It with me. Being that far along and moving who knows when you would get it unpacked once you move back in. I moved 5 months ago while pregnant, my son is now 12 weeks, and I still have boxes in the garage.

Sigh..... I know it's not that big in reality, but I'm working with such little space.

We have a 2 seated sports car, and a Toyota corolla, and in them will be 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 dogs, 1 cat, 3 animal crates (collapsed) for the hotel stays, a PAC n play for hotels, clothing, stroller (because it can't go on the truck and I'm NOT selling that), and whatever else is needed for 2months. So even a little pump bag is pushing it.... :(.

The baby stuff (and all important things) are color coded with the urget for my family to unpack first. (I have my entire family to unpack my house while I sit there and try to keep cooking a baby). And I am anal (like my mom) so all boxes are color coded for what zone of the house it gets unloaded to and then the urgent ones are separate. ;)

I wouldn't pack the pack and play. I believe all hotels offer mini crbs. So that frees up space. I would bring the pump, it's really not that big and it's not gonna take up that much space at all. Also could you eliminate any of the crates and have your animals share 1-2 of them?

If I could afford to buy another one I would. :( this one has been a work horse for me through both kids and working for a year. I wouldn't buy any other kind and wouldn't trust a cheaper brand to hold up like this one has!

I hope the movers wouldn't loose anything!! I pay them enough! lol. They did great all the other times we have used them!

We use motel 6 for the free pet stays. I have known them to have cribs?? I'll have to check. That's an idea. And If I pack the PAC n play, I need to find a box big enough for it (everything has to be in a box or the movers won't take it).

Unfortunately I can't do shared animal crates. They all need their own (the 2 dogs) or it would be disastrous! lol

Skip the pack 'n'play... most hotels offer them.
