I think we are in for a battle with thrush. Kaylee shows no signs of the infection but I do. My nipples have become very red and very sore. They hurt almost all the time and are very sensitive. It's a burning pain and itching pain. It is driving me crazy! It all started just two days ago. I am pretty sure her latch is just fine so I don't have any other explanation. I am going to use Lotramin lotion on myself until I can reach her doctor Monday. I want to make sure she gets treatment just in case she has it but shows no signs.
Any advice for me as for what to expect or what I can do to treat it? Thank u in advance.

Have you been on any antibiotics? That can cause thrush.

You'll find OTC remedies that are safe for you and baby over on kellymom.com. Docs tend to prescribe Nystatin which can make thrush worse rather than better.

I haven't been on any which I thought was wierd but I can't seem to figure any other reason for my symptoms. I had no pain at all nursing her till she started to latch wrong (nipple confusion due to a paci from my mil) but we got through that no issues and I was pain free again for a week. Now here I am red and painful again. They always hurt and hurt really bad when she starts to nurse but then start to itch really bad as she continues. It sucks.....

Sometimes heat and moisture can create the environment thrush needs, too.

I guess that's what did it then. I did have an issue with over supply and LOTS of leaking so that probably did it.
