I think my breastfeeding relationship may be over.... UPDATE
As some if you know my LO has had some issues gaining weight. Today I went and bought a infant scale so I could prove to everyone that he is gaining weight... I was wrong. At his Dr appt back on July 20th he weighed 7lbs4oz (butt naked) today he only weighed 7lbs10oz (again butt naked). Now I know different scales can be off, but that is still an obvious lack of gain. I don't know what to do :( I don't want to stop nursing, but I'm afraid I am going to have to.
Update: I have decided that for now I will continue to nurse on demand and offer the breast more. I also plan on bottle feeding him my pumped milk, to be sure he is getting enough. On Tuesday at his appt with his new pediatrician I will get a referal to the ENT. I DO NOT WANT TO GIVE FORMULA. So I will wait until his lip is fixed to see if he starts gaining. I'm also going to do a block feeding, feed him on 1 side for 6 hours while pumping the other side, that way I'm ensured he gets the hindmilk. My fil is here visiting so I am being pressured by him, but I've made it clear that we will do this my way! I will keep everyone updated on our hopeful progress!

You don't have to stop. You can do both. It doesn't have to be all or nothing

I hadn't thought of that. I pump so could I add formula to my BM instead of adding water?

No you could use an sns or suppliment with properly mixed formula.
but hopefully someone will have a better solution.

You could bf and the use an sns to give formula. How are diapers? what have you done to try to raise your supply? Is it a supply problem? Or a health issur with the baby

I am nursing on demand, but a 6oz gain in 28days is not good!

It's not about the number it's about the output and milestones.
