Wic only looks at the charts, they are known to give very poor advice!
I overheard them cautioning a mother that her son was on the shorter side and she needs to be giving him more foods. To make him taller?!?
Another mom was being scolded for her child gaining 3lbs in 6 months. They told her not to give him any more yogurt*smh*

If your pedi is happy, I wouldn't worry about your LO's size.

If DS pedi says he is growing fine...I wouldn't worry too much about what they tell you at WIC. I learned that one the hard way....they (WIC) told me that my oldest DD was below in height and weight....told me she "obviously isn't getting all the nutrition she needs. She EVEN looks malnourished." This sent me into what I not so affectionately call "freak mode". I thought, "Really, she looks THAT bad...I mean I know she is tiny...the doctor says she's fine....but what if she's not?....what if there is something wrong with her?...what if?....what if?....it was pure madness. I took her to a specialist, had a complete blood work up done....they tested all her nutritional levels....and more or less told me I was being paranoid, that she was fine....that she was just small. Well....DUH? I'm only 5'....so why wouldn't she be small? Anyway....WIC has guidelines....that is pretty much it...some babies simply just do not fit with in these guidelines....but that doesn't necessarily mean there is anything wrong with them.
