My ds has been a constant nurser from day one it seems and he is now 8 weeks. My only saving grace is that he sleeps well at night. He must nurse every hour during the day and uses me as a pacifier too. Will he ever start to space out his feedings? I thought it would be getting better at this point. Also he only cat naps during the day so its hard to get anything done. Its too hot to wear him right now.

Nursing every hour is terribly normal... especially if he's sleeping quite a bit at night... he needs to make up for all that time he's sleeping, KWIM?

Lola is 9 weeks today and nurses at least every hour... often more than that unless she's taking a long nap.   For the catnaps... Some babies just do that.

Hang in there... it'll get easier with time, he'll start napping better.   I just wear her when I really need to get something done... other than that I just enjoy her while I can!  :)

Be thankful that you're getting the break at night. My second nursed like yours during the day AND also woke up frequently at night. Some babies slow down and spread out the feedings and some continue to nurse frequently during the day. You won't know which one you have until it happens or doesn't. My son was one that continued nursing frequently until about 3 years old. He has always been a big comfort nurser. His older brother didn't nurse as much in his second year because he got the comfort sucking from a pacifier instead of from me.

You're gonna pay that piper in one way or another. He's nursing a lot during the day so he doesn't wake often at night. If he starts spacing out the daytime feeds, you will very likely find that he wakes more at night.

It's early yet.
