I just had my son 3 weeks ago on august 7. He was born prematurely by 4 weeks, at 6 lb 7 oz.
Currently, I'm feeding my son breast milk and formula. Regretably more formula than breast milk because I'm having a very difficult time breast feeding.
All three days in the hospital, I had difficulties with my son sucking, he would fall completely asleep with each try. I had the nurses assist me with all the tricks we could think of while staying in the hospital. Now that weve Been home, nicky is having trouble latching and will throw a fit every time we try.
So we decided to pump whatever I could because he was not having it and I have severe nipple anxiety. The problem now is I use to pump up to 4 ounces ( 2 ounces each boob), but I'm now pumping a total of 1 ounce (half with each boob) and not able to produce any more than that.
I'd like to know if anyone else has had these problems, has any advice forme or tips? I want to give Nicky as much breast milk as possible. Any help is greatly appreciated.
