I think I'm ready to quit... :/

Ds is 6 months. Barely. I finally went to the dr and got 10 days worth of meds to kill thrush, after battling it for months. Its far far worse on one side, on that side I cant squeeze anything out by hand 3 hours after ds ate. The pain is better but its not gone yet. In the past when I took fenugreek it made me very very ill as did mothers milk tea.it works but it makes me throw up and get very tired/dizzy. I feel like a bad mom but I really dont think I can handle the fight much longer :( /vent

I'm sorry you're going through this. :( Kuddos to you for fighting for so long! How many more days do you have left on the diflucan?

8. Lol. I can already tell a HUGE difference in the pain. Its bearable again. Now my only concern is supply, assuming the thrush goes away totally. I was totally determined to give him atleast one year, I feel like a rotten mother for debating anything less :/ but at this point I'm just not sure what to do. I cant let him not eat or lose weight and I'm stressing enough that its making me feel like a rotten mom to all my munchkins :/

First, you are NOT a rotten mother. Many would have given up long ago, so just put that thought right out of your mind! Second, 8 days left of meds? Then stick it out for 9 more days and reevaluate then. Sound like a plan? ;)

You know, I haven't seen one word on the ONLY thing that matters.

How are his dipes? Everything else you're looking at will deceive. Scales are liars. DOn't trust them. What you can express means NOTHING; I know a woman who nursed twins and couldn't get one bloody drop from hand expression.

But what goes in and is processed by the body must come out the other side. About five dipes a day at this age. If you're doing that, you're good., Take your diflucan and carry on.

You do realize that older kids hava a bounden duty to make mom feel rotten for merely bringing another c=hild into the world? Wouldn't matter how you feed; they take it as, "What, I wasn't good enough? She had to have the gall to go have another?"

**smile** Relax. They'll spend the next 18 years telling you that you're a rotten mom for this that or the other... disbelieve them, And the louder they tell you that, the better a job you're doing. When they tell you you're great... THEN worry!

Sunday night he went to bed at about 10, woke up at around 6 dry. We cloth diaper so its fairly easy to tell. I check him and change very often, if its wet I change it. Normally I was three times a week and go through 8 to 12 diapers a day. Last week we went through under 20 from monday to saturday. I washed saturday and right now I have 14 dirty diapers. I just put them in the washer so I counted as I went. (sidenote: ewww why did I wait so long to wash?!?!) the only time he has fully soaked a diaper like he would have a month or two ago is when I've given him a bottle. And 2 to 4 ounces and he is done. I attempted to ignore how many diapers we were actually using :/

Haha! I really cant complain about my big kids. They are a huge help and they never complain. Really its me stressing that makes me feel rotten! They are babies biggest advocates! "he is crying! Feed him NOW!" lol. They are a bit older (9,8, and 5)and only one is suffering from the whole I'm the baby syndrome. Lol.

The dipes are what you have to pay attention to. Nothing else, just the dipes.

That count is about 4.6 dipes per day, on average. Not too far off what I'd like to see, actually. You're doing better than you realize. I'd do a nursing vacation. Pop some videos in the DVD player for the other kids and have a "stay at home" party; you just nurse, they just watch. Or if the older kids are in school then spend the day doing nothing but nurse while they're gone; you have no other duties for the day.

For him the diapers are awful :/ thats what worries me. What should he be getting a day diaper wise?

I should add too, he has been getting 4 to 6 ounces of pumped freezer stash or formula. When he was obviously not full after a feeding and couldnt settle down I'd give him 1 to 2 ounces.
