Ready for solids?

Gabe hasn't had anything but BM yet, and we are doing BLS. He is almost 7 months, no tongue thrust, can pick up little objects with a clumsy pincher grasp (gotta keep the carpet spotless!), but isn't sitting unassisted. He sits fine in the high chair, and fairly well when I sit him up on the floor. But he pulls to standing and can stand assisted, crawls, and as I type he's "sitting" on his knees while holding onto the couch with one hand. Do you think I should keep holding off solids, or is he ready for some practice?

I'm fine holding him off for a little longer if he's not ready, but I'm not sure. He seems ready to me, but I'm a stickler for the rules, and he's not sitting.

Also, I posted almost exactly this in a reply in my DDG so if you answer me there you don't need to answer here lol

I think you're ok to offer at this point and let him take the lead. Just go slow :)

Sounds like he is ready. Just follow his lead and he will let you know!

Sitting unassisted means that he can maintain a sitting position when you put him in one, not that he can get to sitting on his own.  I think he's sounds like he's ready to try.

This. It is to ensure that he can stay sitting to reduce the risk of choking.

Give him some food on a plate and see what he does! And get the camera ready :)
