Is this comfort nursing or something else?

It is 5:55 am and she has not slept more than an hour since yesterday around 2:00pm. The only way she will fall asleep is at my breast and she's not even drinking half the time. Once asleep I break the latch and lay her down. I kid you not , minutes will go by before she's up again. I have been up all night with Dh due to this. Is it comfort nursing? Does it ever stop? I cannot function right now :( my boobs have had it and I'm so beyond exhausted

Sounds more like a growth spurt, especially if this is a new/sudden behavior

That's what Dh said. How long does it last? This did not happen with dd1.

I'm in the 3 week growth spurt right now and you just described DS2 to a T. They can last a day or 2, but they do eventually end.

Dd and I are going through growth spurt #3. She'll do this for a day or two and then sleep like crazy the next day. I hate it! Not the constant nursing, but the growing. I've got to go through her clothes since she's outgrowing everything and move her up to size 3-6 months (she's 9 weeks tomorrow).I want her to stay little forever!

My son did that when he a week old,but try to get her use to not sleeping like that cuz I did it and he is now 2 and thats the only way he can fall asleep. I wish i had stop that at the first time.

That varies from growth spurt to growth spurt and child to child.
With my little one the Early growth spurts lasted 3-5 days but now theyre lasting closer to a week as shes older

It depends on how old she is. They go through growth spurts at certain ages & will nurse constantly for a few days to increase your supply. My baby is 3 months & has gone through 3 growth spurts so far. When she needs somthing to soothe her to sleep or to keep her asleep I give her a paci but I try to only use it when I know she's not going through a growth spurt. Have you tried a paci?
