I had a ct scan today and can not breastfeed until tomorrow morning.....

All I have is an avent manual pump and I'm not getting anything out....I haven't nursed since 8am this morning and I don't even feel engorged.....at all.....

I always wondered how much I was producing and I guess I have my answer.....why am I even nursing???? She already gets 3 bottles a day as it is.....

Should I just stop? :-(

Some women don't respond to a pump. Id only stop if you want to.

Pump output isn't an indication of supply.

Any amount of nursing is beneficial. Would you like to get away from supplementing?

Mine are never full.

I don't know or remember your situation.

Its supply demand. If shes not nursing your bodys getting message not to produce.

Every drop, even once a day still has benefits, antibodies, etc.

Skin to skin, free access will up supply. Co-sleep for a nap, and at.night if youd like. Every time I nap witj babe my supply increases and hes already 10 months. Skin to skin ismt just for newborns

Oh and engorgemrnt is tissue, not milk. As your body.becomes accustomed to producing milk and supply regilates your tissue doesnt swell.

Why can't you nurse until tomorrow? The contrast they use for a ct scan doesn't pass in your milk. Go ahead and nurse.

Your milk feeds ur baby just fine. A pump doesnt always work on some people. Try this: look at ur baby or ur baby's picture and get relaxed and think about your baby while pumping. That will release hormones and you milk should come down. Only stop bf if you want to. But I assure u, your breasts will probably be engorged tomorrow if u don't pump.

Also pump output means nothing and why are you supplementing? You mention weight issues. What is the weight history? Birth, lowest and current. Whats babies age? All same scale? Also what kind of delivery? Did you get fluids?

There's no reason you can't nurse after a ct scan, so nurse away.
Pumping means nothing, seriously. How your boobs feel mean nothing. Baby's diaper count is the only indicator of supply. If you don't pump when those bottles are being given, you tell your body to slow down production, it's all about supply and demand.
If you want to drop the supplements, we can help you. :)
