eating on one side

both my dd (who is now 3) and now my new baby (who is 2 months) have only ever eaten from one side at a time. I could offer the 2nd breast but he wont take it....he gets full from one side only (unless its a growth spurt and then he will eat from both.) is this common???

Side note.....he has gained 6 lb or more in 2 months so i am not concerned he isnt getting enough.

My first 3 were like that.  My 4th was the first one who would eat longer than 10 min at a time and who would accept both breasts, but she only did that during growth spurts.

Each of my 4 typically nursed just one side per feeding. 9 times out of 10. There are no "rules". ;-)

Very common. Another post in the "perfect, don't mess with it" category.  What a great way to start 2013!
