I wanted to make this post as a reminder about this groups mission, objectives, and rules. Our mission is to help to normalize breastfeeding and ensure women have access to quality information while concurrently supporting her feeding choices. Our objectives are to have civilized discussions utilizing personal experience and evidence based practice. We also support an individual moms personal feels. It's important however to be cautious of language when stating an opinion. While it is perfectly acceptable to say "I don't feel comfortable doing 'x,'" it is not acceptable to say "people are weird for doing 'x.'" This rule applies regardless of whether the poster is trying to be positive towards breastfeeding. We want this group to remain a place that people can ask questions and get quality answers.
ETA: Because this group has so many participants with so many views it's important to remember that people may say something that we don't agree with. Unless the statement is a direct attack it is not considered bashing here. Best course of action if you don't like a comment that isn't a direct attack (i.e. pointing out why something isn't a good idea) is to counter with evidence or to skip over the reply. :)
Great reminder, Monica!
