Baby girl just went through one of those "I can't do this anymore" growth spurts....but we pushed through and are back to normal feedings.....for now.....this photo reminds me why I love breastfeeding. That bond I feel with my little lady.

Oh me too! I hope it's not too hard when I go back to work. I'm already pumping and storing. Little man is 5 weeks and nursing like a champ despite a lip tie :-)

That is awesome. I was worried about my milk supply....but after a week of only pumping once a day (between feedings) I have 32.5 ounces stockpiled in the freezer and a baby girl quickly growing out of her newborn clothing...... Wahoo.

There are so many moms here who have gone back to work and kept going. The key is to get your body used to responding to the pump by pumping once a day (even once you go back) and knowing how to keep the baby from being overfed from bottles.

I've never heard of over feeding w bottles. I hope that doesn't happen. He feeds on demand right now. I have until 12 weeks off work. Any advice on how to transition him? Please send me a pm if needed.

She looks so happy and in love with mama. :)

When you go back to work, you'll leave 1-1.25 ounces per hour of separation, to be given in no larger than three ounce bottles. This is a forever number and does not change with age. Following this guideline (on Kellymom, if you want to read about it) encourages reverse cycling and ensures you keeping up with the baby's needs. If you feed too much, you'll likely run into issues when your supply regulates. My daughter is almost a year and I came back to work at 12 weeks. She has never had formula. You can do it, mama!
