treating pink eye with breast milk (piog)

My little one has pink eye in both eyes.

:(

The discharge is greenish yellow and thick/sticky so its a good bet that it is bacterial and not viral.

I've been putting breast milk in her eyes a couple times a day but she really hates it, so I don't know how much is getting in there.

How long before I see some improvement? At what point do I need to give in and get her the antibiotic drops?

I was told to put a couple of drops in each time we nursed and saw improvement fairly quickly. The drops will hurt more than the breast milk, so I would give it another day if it's not too horrible before using them over the breast milk.
