I can't believe i'm watching this lol

But snookie just had her baby and the LC came to see her. They asked the LC about the pump and dump theory and the LC actually said it was true that if she has more than 1 drink you have to pump and dump the next feeding... ummm i thought it was safe to drive safe to nurse?

Clearly the LC had no idea what she's saying, lol.

And a million people probably watched this show! I hate people giving incorrect info on here let alone on a very popular tv show!

Pump and dump in antiquated advice. :-( you don't pump and dump your blood; the alcohol metabolize into sugars. The alcohol level in your milk is lower than your blood anyway. Why pump and dump if the alcohol leaves on its own? The only reason you might pump is for your own comfort if you've out and away from baby too long. Even if you got smashed off your gourd, tomorrow the alcohol is all gone from your breastmilk.

Very sad that advice still perpetuates. Just another reason Breastfeeding is made to sound "too hard, too inconvenient".

Safe to drive, safe to nurse. If you're buzzed, wait a couple hours.

I know that but does the rest of America? It also kind of bothered me that they showed the LC scene not long after her boyfriend was feeding the baby a bottle :/

Just more bad info out there. I hate that they put stuff like that on tv especially knowing so many young women watch that show. Lots of young women get that bad info & decide not to breastfeed. I liked how they showed Kim Kardashian using her sisters breastmilk to cure her psoriasis on the last episode of Kim & Kortney take Miami.

I wish those shows had fact-checking. Same with all the horrendous car seat misuse they show. :-(
