Sick toddler nursing strike - will he go back to nursing?

DS, 21 months, is on his 2nd strike this month due to two different stomach bugs. This time, he's just starting to nurse again (yay!) but with much less frequency - he's only nursing for nap & bed (& wake ups) but for a super short time - less than 5 min (used to be 30 min or so). He's also not nursing any other time - usually nurses 3-4 times during the day too. I'm okay if that's what he wants....he seems to just have started getting better & I'm wondering what to expect next.

If you had/have a toddler who's gone through something similar, did they return to pre-sickness frequency?

It's normal for adults and kids to be off their feed while sick... and then they go back to eating plenty.

Expect ANYTHING, to be honest. He might nurse less, he might nurse more... both are normal.

Well my son isn't a toddler yet but when he was sick he didn't nurse much, but when he felt better he went back to the normal amount of time. Just wait and see if he will continue back to hia normal feedings.
