Baby led solids or baby food?

Dd is 5 months old. She isn't siting up perfectly but she is sitting up fairly well for her age. She is showing a HUGE interest in food. She really, really wants food. We've let her play with bananas and avocados (in the last week) and she tries to put them to her mouth.
I think she is a little too little for solids. So I'm curious who does baby food (we would be purchasing a baby food maker rather than actual baby food) or just does BLS.

And what age was ur baby when they started this.

We started Lola at 6 months because she was demanding our food... just started with some fork mashed banana, then avocado and baked sweet potato... next, we put small chunks of chicken on her tray and she gobbled that up.   Now, even if we spoon feed banana or avocado (too messy for self feeding, IMO!), then we just slice it and let her chew... we only fork mashed a couple times.

She's also had broccoli, fish, black beans, zucinini... I can't think of what else!   But, we just offer her some of our food.   She's 7 months.

Personally I wait until they have the pincer grasp and then start with naturally soft foods. Avocados, bananas, steamed broccoli.

Baby led solids.

I'll tell you though, all of my kids behaved ready for solids at 4 months old.  They'd sit at the table, watch every bite that we took, munch their little jaws, and reach for things.  But when food was put in front of them, they'd play with it, throw it on the floor, and not eat a bite.  With BLS, none of my three started to eat solids before 7 months old but when they did, they ate everything we ate without any problems at all.

I think baby led solids is so much easier and healthier.

I'm not, but you can reply without being a member. I used to be in here but since it's been 10 months since I've had to breast feed anyone.......lol

I still have milk though so maybe my breasts want me to be here.
