My baby is 3 days old and so far bf is going ok....not great but not awful, just ok. Anyways.....i know to get a good latch she needs to open wide but I don't feel like she opens wide enough and I noticed this morning that I have scabs on just the top of my nipple..is that normal just from bf or does it mean we have a latch problem?
nursing pic in replies* * does she look like we're doing this right?

I think scabs mean the latch is incorrect,
It does look kinda off.

Get Lanolin asap. That saved my life in the beginning. Does it hurt?

Looks like her lip is curled under... I'm a Le leche league leader.. MSG me if you want, I could do a quick phone consult.

Right off, her top lip is curled under and shouldn't be. It should be curled out, go on youtube and look up some breastfeeding videos, also kellymom.com

I had csectionjjs with my first two babies and could not hold them like that I had to foot ball hold them. It worked really well for me even with my 3rd child. They seem to get a better angle and latch. Maybe try that out.

Luckily the hospital gave me a handful of lanolin samples so I started putting that on this morning. It dont hurt too bad its more uncomfortable

I like how you have the warning in your title. As if feeding your baby is somehow R rated material.
Sorry I can't help. I just kinda had to share that you made me giggle.

I think you are getting the help you need, but I wanted to add, scabbing in the beginning is NORMAL, so don't stress.  BFing is a challenge, for sure, but you are doing great!  Good job mama...

Just wanted to add that lanolin never worked for me. My doc suggested aquafor and to wash off before feedings
