Look up your city. There are volunteers who you can call and meetings you can attend.

Does your hospital have an IBCLC? What exactly is the problem? Have you looked on kellymom.com?

You're right about at the point where I was feeling overwhelmed and doomed. Luckily my hospital had a breastfeeding moms support group. I showed up in tears. THen went 3 days a week for most of the first 6 months. I am pretty certain that if it wasn't for that group of IBCLCs and other mothers who'd been there/done that, that I never would have made it another week, let alone 15 months.

What positions have you been doing?
At 5 days I could only do a football hold.
Are you engorged at all? DS wouldn't latch on if I was engorged so I'd hand express a little.
He also wouldn't latch if my nipples were wet so I'd dry them off before attempting to nurse:)
Hope I helped!

Also YouTube has good videos showing you how to latch. I watched them a lot during Pregnancy.

Need more specifics, please. Does he refuse to latch? Does he latch and unlatch (normal... just requires you relatching... he'll do that sort of thing for MANY weeks). Does the latch hurt?
