I am going to order my breast pump thru my insurance. I am able to choose between a melodi medela and aveda? I will be pumping at work which may include in the car as I am a visiting nurse. Any suggestions on a good pump?

Medela, Hygeia, or Ameda double electric, hands down.

Ameda Purely Yours was PERFECT for me.

I'm also a nurse :). I use a Medela pump in style advanced. I'm now using if for my 2nd and so far I've put 22+ months of use on it (combined). I have used it in the car too with the a/c adaptor and its great. I have 7 other coworkers who have all pumped using the same style pump.

i only used medela pis backpack style, best ever, I used at home, while working, at library, in car, everywhere, and anywhere.  totally convenient and worked fabulous. I had a couple others rec to me, but holy pinching not good for large breasts, and only get electric. start at home because at first it might be hard to relax and release your milk.

I used a medela freestyle. Four years later it still works like new. :)

Stay away from medela. It is an open system and milk can back up in the tubing and mold.

I'm using ameda purely yours.

Any pump can be compatible with car charging...you just have to buy a power inverter. Any auto store has 'em.
