Refusal of breast at 9-10-11 months? Edit

My 11 month old has been going through a "I don't want to nurse" phase for the last month I don't really like. How did you encourage your child through this spurt of independence? I take him into the bedroom where it's quiet

Austin doesn't eat much solids, he's mostly on milk, I am not even going to give him cows milk when he turns one, my children don't get juice. Just natural homemade food, and he's teaching himself to eat, self feeding, no baby food. I know he's going through a strike. Just wondering if other moms could tell the stories on if/when their little one did. My grandma said her last 2 did at 10 mon. He most definitely gets enough milk. Whatever he doesn't get during the day he makes up for nursing in bed at night. Thank you mamas!.

Just keep offering the breast, don't give up, he'll eat when he's hungry! Try not to stress about it, babies can sense that. Good luck!

i've only had 1 (out of 5) that refused the breast for more than a day or 2.  he did it right around the 10 month mark.  he preferred drinking a bottle to the breast (i pumped for daycare).  i ended up weaning him since he absolutely would not take the breast.

He definitely gets enough milk. He makes up for it at night, :) I have just heard other women talk about this.

It's a nursing strike, normal for the age just make sure baby isn't filling up on solids . I always refused solids until they had a full nursing session. Before 1 solids re practice anyway.

Both of these. He cannot get proper nutrition at this age without breastmilk so it needs to be #1.
