Trying to give advice

To a friend who is BFing a ~3 week old baby. She stated that she isnt making enough milk and has to supplement. Her reasoning is that baby isn't gaining enough weight. How many diapers should baby be going through at the 3-4 week stage again? I'm trying really hard to sway her from supplementing if at all possible.

Six minimum in twenty four hours- wet is about three to four tbsp of water in a diaper, poopy diaper counts as two.

3 weeks is the first big growth spurt, when the baby is putting in its big order and mom's body responds to match. Supplementing at this critical point will start the dominoes falling and she really will end up with self-inflicted low supply.

About 6 diapers. Baby should be back up to birthweight, maybe a few ounces over now.

Baby only needs to gain 4-6 ounces per week from LOWEST weight. Birth weight should be written down and forgotten.
