I just had my baby boy yesterday, feb. 28, 2013. Tonight he has been nursing like crazy. He will nurse and I will put him down but he wakes right up and nurses more. What could be wrong? I have checked the latch and made sure he was positioned good. Idk to do. Please help!
Edit
Thank you all for reassuring me. I feel much better knowing what he is doing is normal.

1 mom liked this
He is a newborn, it's what they do. Nothing is wrong. Keep doing what you are doing. Baby is working on your milk supply.

Keep nursing! You only have colostrum right now and they don't need much at all so don't worry... He's getting plenty! But keep nursing whenever he wants to because it will help increase your milk. Congrats on your baby! Mine is 15 days old now. :)

Congrats on the new baby! He's just doing his thing and encouraging your body to do yours, it's all normal. Keep up the good work :)

There's nothing wrong. This is NORMAL! No worries. He is doing his job as a newborn. Congratulations!

Nothing at all--he's doing exactly what he should be doing to get all his colostrum, pass the meconium, and bring in your milk supply! He should do one diaper for each day if like this first week, then six to eight per day after that. No need for anything but your breasts!

Thanks ladies. It was a long night but we made it. He is finally asleep on my chest. I hope he sleeps better today than he did last night.

Probably will NOT, actually. On the breast around the clock is normal expected and desired.
