Boob in the produce section!

Telling you all here because anywhere else I might get flak for it.

I was in the grocery store with DH, DD1 and DD2 and DD2 woke up in her carrier and started to whine and fidget.  It took me a minute to realize my boobs were screaming too and that DD2 had gone past her two hour limit and was hungry.  DH suggested I run out and sit in the car to nurse, but the car was in the far parking lot and I was in no mood to run anywhere.  So I just did what made sense.  I took DD2 out of her carrier and popped her on my boob (was wearing an inconvenient shirt, so couldn't feed her in the carrier), right there, next to the aubergines.

I live in Costa Rica and, though the store was crowded and I got a few glances, only one person said anything.  An older woman who saw me holding DD2 to my boob and reaching for zucchini and she said, "Better to do that than make the poor thing wait for food." and she smiled at me.

Wish it could be like that for all of us, all the time.

(Oh and I'm most proud that I didn't drop her!)

Great story! Good for you!

I wish I had nursed my son in public more but he was an ornery nurser at a young age so unless I brought my rocking chair everywhere with me I never got the chance much and now that he's over 2 I think people would freak, still I should as it helps normalize it :)
