What antibiotics are safe to take while bfing ? I'm pretty sure I've got bronchitis :( and I want to make sure I get a med that's compatible with bfing ..

MAJORITY are safe.  Lact med database is the place to look...they have an app for smartphones too you can download so when doctor says a med you can look it up right there!

I did download it but its been a few weeks and I guess I'm gonna uninstall and reload it as it keeps force closing on my phone :( ..

You'll find a partial list of antibiotics here:

There are lots more that are not on this list that are also safe, but there's a good chance you'll find what you need on this list.

It is pretty hard to find one that is NOT safe while breastfeeding.

I was put on the zpac :( my dr decided since im allergic to penicillin that was our best bet . She also told me to drink extra water and watch for signs of yeast or thrush .

While it's safe for nursing, I'd go with something other than azithromycin. There was a recent report of cancer link, I think. Let me find an article.

Take pro biotic.... eat some yogurt or something to prevent thrush :) feel better soon!

I felt safer taking this then some of the other meds .. =( .. however if i didnt get something to work fast im sure i would be much worse today as she said it was already in my right lung .. so im leaning more toward i have bronchitis/pneumonia ..its been hard to even nurse him at all =( .

Ive started the Culturelle .. which i know probly arent the best .. but its what my dh picked me up bless his heart .. he even read the label just to make sure they didnt have dairy/soy in them !
