Positive opk while breastfeeding?!?

My husband and I are wanting to trying for our second child I've been using opks since Sunday when I was having mild cramping and a little bit of ewcm well today I had one test left and decide to use it and it came back super dark within seconds my son is 8 months old and still nurses regularly and I haven't had pp af yet at all so I'm hoping to catch this first egg ....how long after a positive will I ovulate and how do I know when to take a hpt if I haven't had a period???

Enjoy!!  Blessing to you.  I nursed and didn't have any ovulation going on for 18 months at least!!  You may want to s tart taking early morning temps etc. as I was using the symptothermal method of natural family planning and never had to mess with these fancy schmantzy new tests.  I always knew what was going on with my body, and when things would happen despite being irregular.  Blessings, Blessings!!

Ok yay I'm so excited I really hope it's not a fluke also does this mean my body has released an egg?

It means your LH levels are up. Usually that means there's an egg.

normally when those are positive......you have an egg. BF or not you can still get pregnant, even if there isnt a period present
