WTH?! Sore nipples 4 months post-partum??

Hi ladies,

I've been breastfeeding for 4 months now with no problems (aside from early beginning struggles that is). The past couple days my nipples are super tender and sore when my baby boy latches. I've been using lanolin but curious to know why is this happening all of a sudden? I suspect teething is a possibility?

Teething or thrush. Look in the baby's mouth for white patches. If it is thrush both you and the baby need to be treated.

How do I know if it's thrush? There nothing white in my babes mouth so I dont think it's thrush?

Teething saliva can be irritating to a mom's nipples. Wiping them after feeding can help.

The weather could be to, I know it sounds silly but my nipples used to get sore when the weather would change temps so drastically. My doc said its hormonal. Go figure :-)

Thanks so much! After reading Kelly Mom I do think it's teething and or hormonal changes. Back to lanolin ;-)
