Breastfeeding Moms Breastfeeding Moms

I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Gosh life has been crazy. I breastfeed for a month but then it was too painful to near so I watched to pumping. After a little but of course my supply stayed the same and his demand grew so I had to supplement. His pedi didn't want him to become underweight and I saw no other choice. I got really emotional after seeing my friend nurse her son and tried to go back. It was so painful I finally called the hospital I delivered at instead of his pedi. They had me come in and consult with the lactation consultant. I'm really frustrated cause it took now 4 months for someone to tell me that it is not normal for nursing to hurt. She looked and examined me nursing him and says she really thinks he has a posterior tongue tie. Pedi looked only at the obvious one I guess. Now I am taking DS to a specialist to hopefully solve the problem so I can nurse with no bottles or formula. I'm frustrated it took this long but I finally think I see a happy ending.

When I made the appointment to get a diagnosis they said because he is older they will probably have to put him under anesthetics. I really really hate the idea of putting him under but I know he will benefit it so I'll have to suck it up

Keep us posted.

We have a visit with our ent to hopefully set the date for my 13mo ptt clip and reclip her lip tie in a week. I hate some random dr having so much power :/

See if you can find a dentist or ENT who uses a laser for ties instead... Or at least someone who will do it without general anesthesia.
