Hi! My name is Alyssa and I have a 15 month old named Hunter and I'm pregnant with his little sister, Emma who is due December 7. I was going to breast feed Hunter but I chickened out unfortunately :( I plan on breast feeding then pumping with Emma. Does anyone have any tips or anything? I'm just concerned with nipple confusion and things like that.

Hi, welcome and congrats! :)

What made you chicken out? Why are you planning on pumping, do you mean like if you go back to work or just because?

I'll be going back to work and school. And I didn't have a lot of support when it came to breast feeding. No one in my family has done it.

And pick up a copy of "So That's What They're For" by Janet Tamaro.

I would nurse on demand (any cues i would nurse, hand in mouth, rooting etc. If baby starts to cry that means you missed a cue), and dont add bottles until breastfeeding is well established.

"The womanly art if breastfeeding" is a great book.

Www.llli.org as a section where you can find breastfeeding help in your area and free meetings.

Welcome to the group! And congrats!

Welcome! This group will be very beneficial and helpful. It was for me.

I didn't have a lot if support at first either but after getting some wonderful advice everyone is very supportive of my decision. And I'm so confident and comfortable with it I nurse EVERYWHERE ! Lol
