All you NEED are boobs.

And maybe some nipple cream. And maybe breast pads if you're a leaker.

Go to la leche league and read through all the posts here. Don't get discouraged by other people's struggles. And just remember you can do it. Also learn about what's normal newborn behavior and what newborn nursing looks like. LLL comes in handy for good experience in seeing what nursing looks like.

1 mom liked this
Lansinoh lanolin nipple cream. You can use it on your nipples, lips, baby's chapped skin, on diaper rash, it goes on and on. Dh uses it in the winter to keep his hands from clapping ( he works outside). It lasts forever ;).

I always hated nursing bras. They are expensive and, to me, uncomfortable. I just but regular bras now ( I like slightly padded satin look bras) and pull down the cup. Easy peasy.

You don't need special nursing tops either. Just wear a stretchy cami under a normal top. Pull cami and bra down, outer shirt up and latch baby on.

Oh and definitely breast pads. I like the lashinoh ones. I leak a ton for about 3-4 months so I really need them.

I never used any of that. My travel boppy only got used as a play thing for when we were out. All you need are a few things to make life easier. A baby carrier of some sort (I preferred a stretchy wrap like a moby) a nice big water bottle you can put ice cubes in, lots of adjustable strap tank tops to put under your clothing (to cover your stomach when nursing in front of people)...
Those are all just convenience things though, you don't need anything.

BRA.. whatever is most comfortable for you. There isn't a "best" for all.

Really, the thing you NEED is a sling. Maya wrap, moby wrap, ring sling.
