Breast pain a year after weaning?!

I have really sore breasts every month about a week before my cycle. I weaned my son in October of 2012 (he was 17 months) and it has been happening ever since.

They feel like they are engorged but there is no milk left in them :(

Anyone else have this issue or know what's causing it?

Breast soreness/tenderness is a normal premenstrual symptom. And one of the lovely things about childbirth is that you can come out of it with periods that are very different from what you had before.  This is likely your new normal.
