Update: on our way home with no answers. We will follow up with the doctor and do a more detailed swallow test. After about 12 hours of pumping and bottle feds I started doing weigh-feed-weigh. The whole hospital acted like they had never heard of it. She gets about 2 ounces every 2 hours...of course she ate a little bit better while we were there. Finally today we saw a IBCLC and she said everything is perfect. UPT is minor and not causing any problems. No PTT. No high palete. She laughed when I told her the hospital didn't know about weight-feed-weigh. She said that's what they do in NICU and was happy we were doing it. Baby can get about 1 ounce in less than 10minutes so she is good at getting milk. My supply is sluggish with all baby's refusing to feed but she said just pump for missed feeds to keep up production. Soooo no answers. They didn't even have staff to preform any speciality tests because of the holiday weekend. Frustrated but atleast we are going home for leftover turkey, I can be frustrated at home with a full belly, a bed, and baby gear.

We are on our way to the children's hospital now. At her weight check today she had not gained anything in 6 days. She actually probabaly lost weight because she ate good before the check and hadn't even peed yet. Diaper counts are low now too. Her pedi said overall her weight gain is good but she gained above average (averaged 30g a day) for the first 5 weeks, but since then she is only averaging only 17g a day, and no gain in the last week. Glad to be finally getting some answers, hopefully. Thank ya'll for all your help, I will update when I can

Hang in there!  I think, at this point, that's good news though I wish it wasn't over Thanksgiving for you.  ((hugs))  You're in the best possible place to have a host of specialists see you and tests run at the same time.  I hope they can get it figured out.

If they push for bottle feeding so that they can measure input, you push for weigh-feed-weigh for every feeding and ask that they do it that way.

It may not feel like it, but this is probably the best thing that can happen for you. My breastfeeding problems got straightened out at Loma Linda Children's Hospital.

Good luck!

Thank you for the weigh-feed-weigh thing. I am currently pumping :( so they can check intake. She usually takes a bottle everynight around 10 so I'm not too upset, but I am only doing this for about 12hours. Her problem isn't "wonder how much she's getting" her problem is "will not eat for more than a minute". I am not damaging my bf relationship any more than it already is. Tmrw i am gonna tell them they got their "bottle feeding" in now we are doing it my way. The nurse already offered to bring in formula twice.
