I had my son's upper lip and tongue tie lasered this morning. The procedure was not fun at all. I held his arms down and the nurse held her hands over his eyes and held his head down. We all had to wear protective glasses. The Dr. did his upper lip tie first. It took a few minutes using the laser and cauterizing the wound. Owen was so mad! He was sweating and it was bleeding, not at all pleasant. I had to look away once or twice. It stopped bleeding very quickly. Then the Dr. did his tongue tie with scissors. It was very quick and not bad at all. I was holding Owen and calming him down when the Dr and I noticed that he was very pale. We quickly got the oxygen over his nose and mouth and gave him a couple bursts. He perked back up quickly. By the time I left about an hour later he was pink, alert and had nursed. I can tell nursing feels funny for him because it takes a while for him to latch on well.
