Hi I'm new. I am almost 26 weeks pregnant with my third child. We are planning to breastfeed with her. Will working out affect milk supply?

No. Getting dehydrated from working out and not enough fluids can affect your supply.

Oh. I heard that working makes you stop producing

That's a myth that isn't true.

If you eat a minimum of 1800 calories per day (1300 for you and and 500 to make milk), your supply should be fine. Drink tons of water also. Exercise lightly and if you feel like your milk supply is being affected; slow down, eat more calories and drink more water.

There are some moms that run marathons and still nurse and make plenty of milk.

You'd have to work out so hard that you'd have other problems, like a heart attack. **smile**

I work out 6 days a week and my supply is just fine. As long as you drink plenty of fluids.

Just drink a ton of water. That's a big myth.
