It's fine, no worries. Take probiotics.

and is it possible to just ride this out and not take it?

Strep is not one I would ride out. It can get nasty fast, spread to other parts of your body, and it's highly contagious. A friend of mine nearly died from untreated strep throat.

I wouldn't. I know someone who tried to ride out strep and went to her heart. They didn't think she would live but she did. They eventually ended up having to replace two of her valves in her heart.

2 moms liked this
Vitamin shoppe, walmart, kroger, meijer, etc.... they'll be in the vitamins section. Take the recommended dose 2 hrs after a dose of antibiotics, once a day and continue for at least 2 weeks after finishing the antibiotics. You can open a capsule and sprinkle some of the powder on your nipple before nursing so that baby gets some, too. They'll hell prevent thrush for both of you. Eat yogurt, too.

Wash hands, don't kiss them, don't share toothbrushes or cups, and hopefully you'll be fine, but if they do get it, off to the doctor and they get their own prescriptions.
