Not really OT, question about bfing and antibiotics

I know most antibiotics are safe. I know the ones I'm on are ok but my question is this. Should I worry about Maddox getting too many antibiotics if he's on one and so am I? He's on amoxicillin and I'm taking azityromycin

The only thing I would do is to get some probiotic for both of you to take during and after the courses of antibiotics.

Already doing that. I was just worried about him getting too much medicine

Not as much medicine crosses into breastmilk as it does over the placenta during pregnancy.

I suspect you were given azithromycin specifically because you were nursing. It's given to babies directly in MUCH stronger doses than can pass through breastmilk. Making an educated guess from the dosing info I've found online, amoxicillin isn't quite so powerful as azithromycin.

Bet if it was only baby that was sick, BABY would be getting the z-pack instead of amoxicillin.
