I was doing some research on the internet (sorry not the most reliable source) and it looks like it can cause diarhea, but perhaps its only when given directly.

I've never heard a reason not to drink it. I don't drink it often, but I've had it while pregnant, nursing and both at the same time. I've never had any issues because of it. What makes you ask if it's safe?

A mom in the Babies group asked. I tried to look it up on Kellymom.com, but the search box has disappeared.

George's Aloe is  Anthraquinone free.  It won't cause cramping.

Per kellymom, it's strongly discouraged when breastfeeding.

I'm not sure what benefit you are looking for when drinking the juice. but you can actually just eat the pulp by itself or add it to smoothies. Then you don't have to worry about the added ingredients in the juice. As long as you don't add too much it won't cause diarrhea. I usually just add about a tablespoon to a smoothie.
