Well, we all have colds here at my house. Two questions. First, DD is starting to get congested. If her nose gets all stuffy, any tips on feeding her without suffocating her? (I know she won't really suffocate, but it can't be easy.) second, I usually take mega-dose vitamins (Airborne) when I have a cold. Can I do that while nursing or will it be too much for baby? And I rarely take cold medicines anyway, but just in case, what about those?

When my DS was congested, I'd squirt some breastmilk up his nose then suction all the boogers out before I started nursing. I've also taken Emergen-C while nursing, my OB didn't have a problem with it. Kellymom has a good list of "safe" medicines while nursing.
