BFing in public

First I'd like to say, I love this group.  You ladies are very helpful! :-)

Anyway do you BF in public?  Do you cover?  Do you feel uncomfortable?

I have a mei tai...  When I know I will use the wrap, I wear a tank, so I can just pull the tank down and BF when Fae is in the wrap.  But when doing that I don't cover. Sometimes I get looks or whatever, sometimes I feel uncomfortable, but at least Fae is happy. :-)  I am usually in a nursing bra so that kinda covers the boob, sorta. Lol.    Just want to hear what you all do?  And how it makes you feel?

NOTE:  I was in another group and someone said she was BFing and people were gawking at her.  That is where my questions are coming from.  :-)

Also I did not know I could BF in my wrap UNTIL this group!!  Now Fae is happier knowing she can eat while in it, otherwise she wouldn't like it as much.  Lol!

I breastfeed in public but i use a cover. Or if im at a store i use changing rooms. Im a new mom and have always been modest also make me a little uncomfortable to not use a cover. Im sure eventually i will be more comfortable not using one

I can understand that. With my son (6 now) I was VERY modest.  To the point I just took bottles w/ me when we were out.  I was just embarrassed I guess...  Now for the second one, it's like eh.. It is natural.  :-)

Have you seen that commercial where it starts out with a mom being over protective or whatever and then it goes to the lady  talking to the mechanic and she needs to get something out of her purse, she hands the baby to the mechanic so she can look in her purse.  She doesn't know this guy.  LOL. It is kind of like that.  First babies mom's are all strict about being sterile, second baby eh.  Hah. :-P

So far I've used a cover. But I'm about to stop because it takes longer to get it out and on and by then people are already staring because my baby's crying! Lol. I always wear a nursing bra and tank when out and a shirt of the top, so when I nurse my body is covered by cloth and baby.

I do that too! That way my body and my boobs are covered.  I didn't know so many people actually did this. I thought I was a genius.  Hahaha. :-P

With my first daughter, I didn't. I brought bottles. I was too worried about what other people thought.

My twins came along and we battled nipple confusion. I worked so hard to get them to latch. So I nursed in public if we needed to. I wasn't going to let someone else's comfort mess up what I worked hard for. At first I used a cover but as they got older it was more of a hassle. I was still discreet; you couldn't see anything

Yeah, I mean if anyone is offended over seeing the back of my baby's head then they're looking for something to be offened by because I DONT feel comfortable showing my body and I make sure I'm as comfortable as I can be.

I've done it many many times and I don't use a cover, I find them to obvious.  I've never ever encountered any negative comments.  As a matter of fact we had our son at his specialist for the first time and when the dr was doing the initial interview he asked if the baby was breast or formula fed.  Lol I was actively breastfeeding him at the time so I'm extremely inconspicuous.

yes I nurse in public, no I don't cover up. I wrap the baby in a blanket but I don't put it over his head or anything like that.

I nurse in public very often, usually ten times a week. I use my shirt to cover myself in the warm weather and now that's it's super cold outside my bulky clothing keeps me covered.
