Is no joke 😭 I have a fever of 102.8 which feels horrible. Constant Hot and cold flashes overwhelming dizzy feeling and no energy to do anything 😩 Has anyone had this before? I already went to the dr and started the prescription for it last night. If you've had it before how long did it take for you to be able to function?

Nurse like there's no tomorrow! Did it start with a plugged duct? If you can get it out, it should help you feel better. Drink plenty of fluids, nurse, and rest. I hope you're feeling better soon!

Oh, taking a probiotic in between the doses of the antibiotic can help prevent developing thrush.

The pain started at night and it felt like a strong bruise, I'm not sure if that was the duct being blocked? I feel like I had no warning. I got home and it just hit me along with chills and hot flashes and the dizziness. It's awful! So far the bruising feeling in my breast has gone away thankfully, but all the fever symtoms are still there in full swing and nursing on that side hurts :/ I think what caused it is my newborn is sleeping from 11-5 am continuous so I don't have a chance to empty it out. So I'm gonna make sure I fix that issue and hopefully it helps prevent it from happening again

Yes, I have had mastitis twice recently breastfeeding my 5 month old daughter and it was awful! My fever was not as high as yours, but I still had a fever and the pain was excruciating! I breast fed my daughter more frequently and started her off on the infected side first always and I also pumped to help. I saw my doctor the first time and she said it was up to me if I wanted to take antibiotics or not. Despite the breastfeeding specialist telling me I would not get better without taking antibiotics. Well, she was wrong, I did get better. (I have overused antibiotics in the past and they give me terrible side effects, so I am hesitant to take antibiotics unless absolutely necessary. It took me 3 to 4 days to recover each time. My daughter breast feeds through the night, so that helped also. The breastfeeding specialist told me that the key is to breast feed more and wear loose shirts and go with out a bra, drink lots of water and get lost of rest! Take care and so sorry you are going through this!feel better

I had it 2 weeks ago! You should feel better in 24-48 hours .

I have had it twice. I nursed and pumped like crazy and felt better in two or three days. But by then I had created an oversupply.

Yes girl it's awful! Take your meds like they say! I wanted to avoid medication and didn't get treatment soon enough and mine turned into an abcess. You will feel better soon though!!
