I am starting to look into adding solids to my baby's diet. The doctor told us that he's big and old enough that he might benefit from adding some cereal to his diet, and soon he'll be ready for other foods. As solids slowly become a bigger part of his diet, will my breast milk still stay strong? I've heard some moms complain that once they started breastfeeding less, their milk production dropped dramatically. How many feedings a day do I need to make sure that my milk doesn't stop? Eventually (after he's 1 or so), can I still breastfeed 2 or so times a day, or will that not be enough?
