Not talking

My little guy doesn't talk or really even babble much.  He doesn't even say Mama or dada.  The only thing he says sounds like "huh".  I am worried about him, the doctor said that if he's not saying at least like 5 words or something like that at 15 months then she is going to recommend that we take him somewhere to get him evaluated or something like that.  I was just wondering if anyone else if having this issue or any suggestions?  I think I should be worried but I don't know exactly what to do.  I talk to him all day and I ask him questions when he grunts or whatever sound he makes when he wants something, I read to him as much as he will allow me to.  He is a very active little boy.

My guys is about 14 months and he babbles alot and says Dada Yaya (his cousins name) and woof but thats all,  he just started talking around a year and some of my friends have kids that have talked way earlier, I wouldnt be too worried, if he at least babbles then I think he is fine, but Dr knows best.  I think every child just talks at different times you know? Good luck.

i actually put up a post not long ago about this exact same thing. My son is 13 months old and the only thing he consistently says is mama and uh-oh. everyone once in awhile i will here dada, baba, gama, or ayla (cayla, his sister) but they are very rare. he does babble constantly though. he understands things fine. if i ask where his blankie is, or to pick up mommies cell phone, or anything like that, he understands. he just doesnt talk much. i know, it worries me too.

i am a proud mommy of 1 ornery 1 year old little boy and one very goofy 4 year old little girl, ive been married for 2 years, together for almost 5. fun loving, eco-friendly, creative, different strokes work for different folks, stay at home and work at home mommy!

My daughter is 13 months & doesn't say anything at all either. She'll babble sometimes, but my 10 yr. old didn't really say anything until he turned 2. And when I asked my Dr. about this, he told me he has nothing to say to me. Now I can't get him to shut up!

My son is 13 months old and does not say a whole lot of words. My daughter was talking away at this age lol. I thought as long as they were babbling and showing that they understand what you are saying, they are on their way. At least that's what my Pedi says. I don't worry about it because he's advanced in other ways.

Happily married to my high school sweetheart, soul mate and best friend & Proud mommy of a beautiful princess and handsome little toddler prince!
